ITTAR (also spelled Attar) is a traditional concentrated perfume oil that has been used for centuries in the Middle East, India, and parts of Asia. The name comes from the Arabic word ʿAṭr (عطر), meaning perfume, fragrance, or pleasant scent.
Unlike traditional alcohol-based perfumes, attar perfume oils are highly concentrated and contain no alcohol, allowing the fragrance to last longer and develop naturally on the skin.
Perfume oil is 100% concentrated and alcohol-free, while traditional spray perfumes contain a high percentage of alcohol. Because of its concentrated formula, perfume oil typically lasts much longer on the skin, offers a richer scent experience, and requires only a small amount with each application.
Perfume oil can be applied almost anywhere on the body, but for the best performance, it is generally recommended to apply it to your pulse points, where the skin is naturally warmer. Common application areas include:
